Elizabeth "Betty" A. (Schindler) Hable, age 88, of Bloomer passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Dove Healthcare in Bloomer.
Betty was born on October 23, 1937, to William and Cecelia (Gaier) Schindler. She attended St. John the Baptist School in Cooks Valley. Betty married Arnold "Arnie" Hable on September 27, 1958. Betty stayed home while raising her four oldest children and eventually started a job at Presto. She was proud of her job and made many good friends. Betty then took a job in dietary services at the Chippewa County Hospital.
Betty took great pride in her work, as well as her flowers and yard. She loved her family. Before moving to Dove she enjoyed her volunteer work, calling bingo, serving and delivering meals on wheels and being part of the Bloomer Senior Center.
She is survived by her sons, Bruce (Roxie) Hable, and Brian (Sandy) Hable of Chippewa Falls; daughters, Jeanne (Jeffrey) Dachel of Eagle Point, Nancy (Steve) Naas of Bloomer, and Sonja (James) Govednik of Cambridge, MN; grandchildren, Chad (Amanda) Hable, Kyle (Ashley) Hable, Craig (Jamie) Hable, Amanda (Dan) Oates, Lindsay (Matthew) Weix, Mark Naas, Nikki
(Isaac) O'Keefe, Katie (Rhett) Hardy, Tyler (Bailey) Naas, Abbie and Owen Govednik; great-grandchildren, Lillian, Tessa, Tevah, Graham, Reagan, Grayson, Rhett, Wrenley, Nora, Brinnley, Myra, Clara, Braeghan, Wyrhen, Baylor, and Kason. Special God-daughter, Jenny Biorn; and brothers, William Schindler, Eugene (Bonnie) Schindler, Larry (Rosemary) Schinder; and her sisters, Mary Jane Bohl, and Teresa (Richard) Keller.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Arnie; grandson, Zachary Govednik; brothers, James (Mary) Schindler, and John (Melva) Schindler; sisters, Delores (Lawrence) Hebert, and Donetta (Roland) Bowe; brother-in-law, William Bohl; and sister-in-law, Rose Schindler.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2026, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Bloomer with Father Brian Ward celebrating the mass. Burial will be private in the spring at North Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to mass on February 23, from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Bloomer.
