Elizabeth Joleen Holland

Elizabeth Joleen "Jo" Holland, 52, passed away on August 22, 2025 in Peoria, IL. She was born on June 11, 1973 in Asheville, NC to Jennifer (Kaufman) Combs. She married Mitchell Holland, he survives her.

Jo worked as a medical assistant. She worked for Sher Institute for Reproductive Medicine and OSF Podiatry in Peoria, IL.

Her daughters fondly remember annual road trips to visit family in South Carolina, singing to the radio and swimming in the ocean together. She enjoyed dancing and 80's music, dining out, playing water volleyball, swimming, and watching Cubs games as well as all types of movies. In her younger days, she excelled at school and sports, especially softball and volleyball. Jo never hesitated to stop and help someone in need, human or animal. She loved her fur baby, Luna.

She is survived by her spouse, Mitchell; daughters, Breanna (Benjamin Roos) Grow and Marissa (Jacob Washington) Grow; sister, Kristina Henderson; her mother, Jennifer; stepdaughter, Natalie (Nicholas) Brockamp; and two grandchildren, Theodore and Francesca Brockamp. She and her ex-husband, Curtis Grow, remained friends thanks to their mutual love of their children.

Jo is preceded in death by her father, Craig Combs; granddaughter, Genevieve Henderson; mother-in-law, Maye Grow; father-in-law, Gordon Grow; and mother-in-law, Shirley Happs.

A celebration of life will be held 12 Noon - 2 pm Sunday, September 21 at the Apartments at Grand Prairie Clubhouse, 5400 W. Sienna Ln, Peoria, IL 61615.

Memorials may be made to OSF Children's Hospital in lieu of flowers.
