Elizabeth "Liz" "Janie" Pfouts James, age 68, of Scio, formerly of New Philadelphia, died suddenly, Monday, February 3, 2025, in Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville.
Born September 18, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Janice Pfouts Mansfield and Chuck Mansfield. She worked at Starlight Enterprises in New Philadelphia and Carroll Hills Workshop in Carrollton before her health declined.
Liz had attended Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Canton and New Philadelphia. She had been on the Cougars bowling team for Carroll Hills Bowling League and enjoyed knitting. But what she loved most was getting together with her family, and attending the annual Scio Fall Festival. She truly enjoyed celebrating her last birthday with her cousins that shared September birthdays.
She was preceded in death by her husband David A James on July 15, 2008, a brother Terry Mansfield and grandparents Arthur and Hazel Pfouts.
Surviving are a daughter Judy (Scott) Emery and a brother Jerry Mansfield both of New Philadelphia, aunts and uncles Kathy (Richard) Harbourt of Belmont, Thomas (Cindy) Pfouts of Canton and Bill Leggett of Knoxville, grandchildren Kevin, Jacob and Madison, step grandchildren Joey and Jessica, a great grandson and a great granddaughter, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held Friday, February 7, 2025, at 1 pm in Koch Funeral Home, 101 W Main St. Scio with Pastor Mark Statler officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service, from 11 am to 1 pm. www.kochfuneral.com
