Elizabeth "Liz" Johnson, 88

Elizabeth "Liz" Johnson, 88, passed away on March 29, 2026, at her home in Osburn, Idaho, due to complications from COPD and heart disease.

Liz was born on April 16, 1937, in Butte, Montana, to John and Bernice Christian. She later moved with her family to Kellogg, Idaho, along with two of her three sisters. Her youngest sister, Margaret, was born after the family settled in Kellogg.

While attending high school, Liz met Eugene "Gene" Johnson, a handsome young sailor who was also from Kellogg. The two were married on June 7, 1955, and together they raised two daughters, Deborah Kidder and Brenda Streeter. Gene preceded her in death in 2013 after 57 years of marriage.

In her younger years, Liz enjoyed square dancing, bowling, snowmobiling, and golfing alongside her husband. She found great joy in being a homemaker and took immense pride in her roles as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her family was the center of her life, and she especially cherished family dinners and holiday gatherings.

Liz was known for her sweet and gentle nature, which endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by her sisters, Kathy Keathley of Aberdeen, Washington, and Margaret Yamamoto of Cascade, Idaho; her daughter, Deborah (James) Kidder of Kooskia, Idaho; her granddaughter, Jami (Chris) Carlson of Prichard, Idaho; her great-granddaughters, Makayla Carlson (Tanner) of Kellogg, Idaho, and Kaylee (Wyett) King of Kellogg, Idaho; and her great-great-grandson, Koen Gene Garitone of Kellogg, Idaho. Liz was eagerly awaiting the arrival of two great-great-grandchildren, Wrenley Elizabeth King, due in May, and baby Gallian, due in October, whom she sadly did not have the opportunity to meet.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Johnson; her daughter, Brenda Streeter; her son-in-law, Henry Teats; her sister, Bernice White; and her parents.
