Elizabeth Jones Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Green Country Funeral Home on Dec. 9, 2025.
Elizabeth "Liz" Jones left this world on December 1, 2025, at the age of 30. Born as Blaine Garrett Jones on August 8, 1995, in Wichita, Kansas, she will be most remembered for the laughter that she brought into the lives of those around her. Liz spent her final years in Park Hill, Oklahoma, enjoying the peace and beauty of Lake Tenkiller.
She grew up in Rose Hill, Kansas before moving to North Carolina for her junior year and graduating from Northern Guilford High School in 2012. Always ready for her next adventure, she started her college journey at McPherson College studying Auto Restoration. She shifted her interest toward wanting to understand herself and those around her when she decided to major in Psychology with a minor in Women and Gender Studies at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. After meeting and befriending Sharon, the two were married and welcomed their son, Harrison, in 2018. Liz began her transition in 2020, stepping into the woman she always knew herself to be. She moved through the years following this transition with grace and the support of family and friends while becoming more of herself each and every day.
She led a rich life, filled with the passions that showed how multi-talented she was. After high school football, she played collegiate rugby at K-State, her grit and determination eventually earning her the opportunity to say that she was qualified to play on the US Olympic Team - a milestone that she carried with pride. Later in life she enjoyed watching and attending hockey games with her family, and looked forward to the hockey season to start by the time summer ended each year. Aside from sports, she loved longboarding, rebuilding engines and machines, crocheting, caring for her rabbits, and chandlery - everything she touched became a reflection of her creativity and restless curiosity!
Liz leaves behind the family that she loved: her spouse, Sharon Rose Jones; her son, Harrison Darryl Jones; her father, Darrin Jones; her mother, Mary Kathleen Jones; and her grandmother, Lou Alice Mahaney.
