Fulton Nash, born January 22, 1932 in McAlester, OK, lived a life shaped by music, faith, and service to others. His gospel singing journey began at the age sixteen in his local church quartet and continued for forty years. Fulton later joined the Weatherford Quartet, traveling nationally and singing in churches, schools, and community gatherings across the country. He also sang for a period with Smitty Gatlin of the early Oak Ridge Boys before returning to the Weatherfords. Through his many recordings and performances, he shared faith with audiences far and wide.
Fulton served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954, during the Korean War. He participated in the Battles of Wonsan and Inchon and served abroad the USS Surfbird with the rank of Seaman
He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Brenda (Jamison) Nash: his daughter, Carrie Nash of Tahlequah: and his granddaughter, Alyssa Nash of Tahlequah. Additional family members include cousin Judy Nash: nephew Judd Jamison of Tulsa: niece Jessica (Jamison) Secratt and her husband Kenney Secratt Jr. of Tahlequah; niece Ashley Jamison: and great-nieces and great-nephews Trey, Ronnie, Raya, and Robyn. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law Alton Jamison and his wife Erna.
Fulton was preceded in death by his father, Arther Guy "Doc" Nash: his mother, Hannah Jane (Fulton) Nash, who passed away when he was an infant and the aunt who raised him, Katherina "Momma Katie" (Fulton) Nash.
He enjoyed visiting with people, especially when talking about history. Fulton was a member of the Bellflower Baptist Church in California and later attended Welling General Baptist Church in Welling, Oklahoma. He retired from the Oklahoma State Health Department.
Those serving as pallbearers include Trey Secratt, Judd Jamison, Donald Brown, Mike Rozell, Tim Cunningham, Gary Rozell, JD Rozell, Alton Jamison.
Fulton's life reflected his dedication to faith, music, and family, and he will be remembered with gratitude, by those who knew him.
