Bonnie Joyce Ballard, born April 1, 1945, in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, November 3, 2025, at the age of 80.
Bonnie lived a full and beautiful life, defined by her love for family, her unwavering kindness, and her gentle strength. She had a gift for making others feel at home - whether through her laughter, her cooking, or her thoughtful words. Her warmth and grace touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Bonnie was legendary for her Chocolate, Cherry Cheesecake, and Lemon Meringue pies. Harold and Bonnie hosted the annual Henderson Thanksgiving celebration at their family farm for over forty years. Lindsay Bouse, Bonnie's great niece even wrote a paper about Thanksgiving as her favorite holiday because she loved coming to Aunt Bonnie's.
Throughout her life, Bonnie cherished the simple joys - time spent with loved ones, the beauty of nature, and the quiet moments that filled her heart with gratitude. She was a devoted wife to Harold for the past 63 years, and her love and care will continue to be felt through the generations of her family. Bonnie grew up working on her family's dairy farm in Muskogee and later in Fort Gibson. Bonnie worked 7 days a week on the dairy with her family. Like many other members of her family, Bonnie also took her education seriously being recognized as the Valedictorian of her senior class of Fort Gibson High School of 1962.
Upon completion of graduation and marriage, Bonnie and Harold moved from Fort Gibson, Oklahoma to Wooster, Ohio. It was here under the watchful eye of Pastor Guy Morton and Westwood Baptist Church that Bonnie and Harold gave their lives to Christ and service to the church as adults. Bonnie served as a church pianist for over fifty years in various churches. Upon returning to Oklahoma, Bonnie worked at the First National Bank of Muskogee, Fort Gibson State Bank, and as the Office Manager of the medical offices of Dr. Gary Lambert of Muskogee.
Bonnie is survived by her husband Harold Ballard, son Wayne Ballard and wife Kim, and daughter, Ginger Sigler and husband Scot. She is also survived by her brother Phillip Henderson, and sisters, Betty Pirkle, and Connie Fuss. Other survivors include grandsons, Brack Ballard and wife Courtney, Cole Poplin, Zach Ballard and wife Shannon, Easton Poplin and wife Chelsea, Keaton Poplin and wife Emily, and Scot Sigler II.
