Elizabeth "Huether" Jung passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Known by most as "Betty", she was loved by the friends and family she had from the various times and places in her life. Born in Brooklyn, NY on August 25, 1958. She moved to Lancaster, PA in 1989, where she lived until 2024, when she moved to Franklinton, NC to be closer to family.

She loved to travel and go on cruises. She and Rob were able to go on one final cruise in early December 2025. On the cruises, she loved to see the shows, go snorkeling, and of course relax in the sun, which she always referred to as her "Happy Place." She and Rob were able to travel to some of the most beautiful places throughout their time together. They visited Hawaii, Cancun, Albuquerque, Costa Rica, Punta Cana, and so many more. I know how much she loved these times she and Rob were able to spend together.

She loved theater, Broadway, dancing, music. Growing up in New York, she saw many Broadway shows, then took me to my first Broadway show when I was 9. It's a tradition we continued throughout my childhood and beyond, seeing future shows in NYC and also in Lancaster, PA every year. She also saw many shows with Rob throughout the years. She loved ABBA, Eagles, and Train, seeing concerts and tribute band performances throughout the years.

She loved dancing and gymnastics, having completed in gymnastics in school. She watched Dancing with the Stars since the beginning, first with me before I moved away from Lancaster, then separately but together as we watched from different states, but texted throughout about each dance, their scores, and then inevitably who eliminated and who won. This is and will one of my most treasured memories of things mom and I shared.

She was a diehard Hallmark Movies (especially Christmas) fan. She was one of the true fans who had the app each Christmas so she could track and mark off each of the forty plus movies she watched each year.

She was probably one of the biggest fans of the Olympics you could ever meet. She watched the Olympics in person in LA in 1984, then again in 1996 in Atlanta. She also participated in the torch relay of the '96 Olympics, which she regarded as one of the greatest things she ever was able to do.

My mom was a wonderful daughter, mom, wife, Oma, sister, aunt, friend, and of course mom of all her fur babies.

She was preceded in death by father Henry in 2007 and mother Margaret in 2014. She is survived by daughter Emily, son-in law Duston, son Joe, sister Margaret, brother in law John, nephew Johnny, stepchildren Matt (wife Chelsea) and Aimee (husband Chris). She is also survived by her sister-in- law Diane (husband Mark), and her four grandchildren Ava, Declan, Harper, and Jonah. She was an amazing partner and wife to Rob for over twenty years.

She was the ultimate lover of all animals and was the greatest fur baby mom any kitty could hope for. Since getting her first kitty Toby in 2003, she welcomed 6 other lucky kitties into their home. Some of them were senior aged cats that could no longer stay in their previous homes, but she gave them endless love and attention for the rest of their lives. She leaves behind Henry and Hally, who were also rescues from the animal hospital where she worked. All the kitties who preceded her in death surely met her at the Rainbow Bridge, especially her baby Sammy, who held the biggest piece of her heart from the beginning. No kitty loved his mommy more than Sammy.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren Ava, Declan, Harper, and Jonah. She got the biggest kick out of doing laundry with Harper and FaceTiming with Jonah. Oma was one of Declan's favorite people in the world. He couldn't wait to go to "Oma's house" and drive in "Oma car", and he loved spending time with Oma on Wednesdays while I was at work. I'll continue to help Declan remember what a special, wonderful Oma he was so lucky to have.

Finally, she was the most amazing mother I could ever have asked for. She was there for me through all the ups and downs, numerous moves, getting married, becoming a mother for the first time, then navigating being a mother for a child with Cerebral Palsy. She was there to listen, share her experiences, offer her love, support, and advice. Her heart was always open wide and was never afraid to share how much she cared about you and what you meant to her. She was my best friend, maid of honor at my wedding, and the first person I did and will always want to call to share any news. I will continue to be inspired by her love and dedication she had for her family.

We will mourn the times to come when she's physically not here, but we will try to hold on to the gratitude and memories of all the times she was here to with us. We will miss her each day, but will find solace in her now living in the presence of our Lord and Savior and reunited with those that passed before her.

If you would like to make a donation in her memory, please consider ASPCA. She donated to them for many years and wanted to do all she could to help rescue animals. secure.ASPCA.org.
