Elizabeth Keleher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery Funeral Home on Dec. 11, 2025.
Elizabeth "Liz" Irene Keleher, 84, of Marion, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on December 8, 2025 surrounded by family. Services will be held Monday, December 15, 2025, 11:00 am, at First Presbyterian Church, Marion, Iowa. Visitation will be Sunday, December 14, 2025, 2:00-5:00 pm, Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Shade Cemetery.

Survivors include her loving husband of 66 years, Rodger, her children, Jeffery (Jody) Keleher, Christopher Keleher, and Catherine (Kris) Hill, all of Marion. Her grandchildren, Bryan(Meghan) and Timothy(Samantha), along with great-grandchildren, Henry, Luka, and Caden, as well as her brother, Duane Rundall and several nieces and nephews.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Mary Pollack and Beverly Carsner, and brothers, Lawrence Rundall and Ivan Rundall. Along with father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Donita Keleher.

Elizabeth Irene (Rundall) Keleher was born on October 18, 1941, in Iowa City, Iowa to Robert and Dorothy Rundall. She was raised in Martelle and Springville, Iowa until moving to Marion where she attended the last few years of high school. After her marriage, to the love of her life, Rodger and the birth of their children she worked as a CNA at the University Hospital and VA Hospital in Iowa City, helping support her family and raising three kids, while her husband made his way through college and dental school. When her husband opened his dental practice, Liz was his receptionist, bookkeeper, office manager and partner, always greeting patients with a smile and enjoying the conversations. In later years, Liz loved her time in Florida during the winter, returning to the same location for almost 25 years, and making new friends. She also looked forward to traveling with family and friends and was able to visit Europe and Hawaii and enjoy many cruises. Her favorite cruises were when all her children joined them to celebrate their 50th and 60th anniversaries. Liz was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for over 50 years and volunteered there for many years. She was beautiful both inside and out, known for her laughter and kind heart. Although Liz's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to uplift us. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of compassion, friendship and love in all that we do. Her light will forever shine brightly in our hearts. She will be missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to First Presbyterian Church of Marion, Iowa 52302.

Dear Uncle Rodger, Jeff, Cathy and Chris,
Sending you all love and condolences on the passing of Aunty Irene. I remember clearly, how much as children we loved when you all came to visit. Your Mom was always so happy, funny and kind. I remember all our parents sitting around the kitchen table talking for hours. Irene had the best laugh and warm kind smile. I will always be so happy I visited with she and Uncle Rodger when I visited 18 months ago. I will treasure this forever. She was a wonderful, kind and generous woman. My life is better for having her in it. xx Love Becky
