Elizabeth "Bette" Knauer

Elizabeth "Bette" Knauer, 77, of Plymouth, WI, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on February 14, 2026.

She was born on July 11, 1948 in Fond du Lac, WI, a daughter of the late Clemens and Mary (Piper) Schneider.

Bette attended St. Mary Catholic Grade School and graduated from Brillion High School in 1967.

On July 11, 1970, she married Eugene Knauer at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth.

She worked at Valley View Manor in Plymouth for 30 years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was on the quilting guild. Bette enjoyed quilting and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene; daughters, Heather Heier and Jennifer Knauer; son, Mark (Gretchen) Nurmi; grandchildren, Ethan, Nicholas, Abigail, Jessica, Thomas, and Emily; Sisters, Judy (Mike) Griffin, Kay Pinter, and Audrey Oldenburg; brother, Bill (Diane) Schneider; and many in-laws, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John; brothers-in-law, Vern Pinter and Roman Oldenburg; and her cat, Franklin.

A Celebration of life will be held on March 21st (Saturday) from 1:00pm-4:00pm at the Sewing Basket, 426 E Mill Street, Plymouth, WI, parking is available in the back.
