Elizabeth "Betsy" Kretsch passed away peacefully on Friday, October 3, 2025.

Betsy was born in Two Rivers to William and Mary (Skladge) Kuklis. She was a graduate of Washington High School. On October 20, 1956, Betsy married Patrick Kretsch. Betsy worked in the nursing home industry for majority of her adult life at Park Lawn Home and Riversbend Nursing Home. She was a dedicated and passionate caregiver and worked well into her late 70s. Betsy loved her Dachshunds, spending time at her cottage on English Lake and the many award vacations through her husband's business.

She is survived by her son-in-law: Michael Nickels, Appleton; three grandchildren: Thomas (Christine) Nickels, St. Louis Park, MN, Dr. Eric Nickels (Dr. Sarah Dabagh), Los Angeles, CA, Joseph Nickels (Joyce Chen) Bellevue, WA. In addition, she was blessed with three great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Soraya, Cameron. Betsy was preceded in death by her parents: William and Mary Kuklis; her husband: Patrick Kretsch; one daughter: Julie Nickels; one sister: Veronica Boelter; and two brothers: Daniel Kuklis, Chester Kuklis.

A celebration of life for Betsy will be held at a future date, to be determined.

Lakeshore Family Funeral Homes, Pfeffer Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family is grateful for the compassionate care provided by Home Care Health Services, St. Mary's at Felician Village, and the Sharon Richardson Community Hospice. The family would also like to acknowledge the selfless compassion provided by Debbi Lorge, Rosie Brennan, Beverly Novak, and JoAnn Olm.
