Elizabeth Langeroudi Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Appalachian Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Johnson City on Jan. 27, 2026.
Elizabeth Jean Taylor Langeroudi, 93, Johnson City, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 23, 2026. She passed peacefully and is now resting in the arms of Jesus.

She was born in Johnson City and was a daughter of the late William and Beryl Buckles Taylor.

Jean was a Christian woman with an unwavering faith which formed the bedrock of her life. Her entire life was one of service to God, her family, and others. Her kind, loving, giving spirit that always put others first, was an inspiration to our family and all that knew her. Jean was the heart of our family and our guiding light. As a dedicated nurse, she spent most of her career caring for our Veterans at the VA. She treated them with respect, a comforting touch, and a commitment to giving them the best possible care.

Jean was a deeply family-oriented person and enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved big family gatherings, shopping in Pigeon Forge, going to the beach and eating oysters, riding in the mountains, or something as simple as watching TV together. As long as she was sharing time with the family she loved so deeply, she was in her happy place.

Jean was preceded in death by her siblings, Jerry Taylor, Mike Taylor, and Jackie Winters (C.W.); daughter, Shalhla Maine (Timmy); grandchildren, Tekisha Maine and Timothy J.D. Maine.

Left to cherish her memory are her granddaughter, Crystal Smith (Jay); great-grandchildren, Noah and Kaleigh Feathers; siblings, Cindi Taylor and Charles Taylor (Teresa); as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Jean will be conducted at 6:00 pm Thursday, January 29, 2026, from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Pastor John Moore, officiating. The Nightingale Tribute will be performed by Appalachian Highlands Nurses Honor Guard of Northeast TN.The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00-6:00 pm at the funeral home.

The graveside committal service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 30, 2026, in Roselawn Memorial Park. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 pm.
