Age 73, passed away September 18, 2023. A memorial service will be held 2PM Friday, September 22, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. The family will receive friends from 12PM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to ASPCA. Elizabeth was born February 20, 1950 in Detroit, the daughter of Forrest and Margaret (Abraham) Carr. She retired from The Flint Journal, where she worked in Classified Ads for many years. She enjoyed scrap booking and genealogy. Elizabeth loved her cats and was an avid reader, especially a fan of Stephen King. She was a Detroit Tigers fan her entire life and often talked about them winning the World Series in both 1968 and 1984. She would reference Mickey Lolitch and Bill Freehan as her favorite "old time" players but Miggy had her heart for the past few years. She watched with anticipation for him to get his 500th home run two years ago and his 3000th hit last year. She is survived by her daughter, Corinne Shear (Shawn Cook); grandchildren, Gabrielle Cook (Adam Oldenburg) and Cameron Cook; brother, Thomas (Carol) Carr. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Symphony of Linden, as well as Residential Hospice, especially her nurse, Cheryl for their amazing care.
