Elizabeth J Linard

Elizabeth J. Linard, known affectionately as Liz, was a vibrant spirit who filled the world around her with joy and laughter. Born on January 13, 1950, in Bird City, Kansas, she blossomed into a woman with an indomitable spirit, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of her family, friends, and students alike. Liz unexpectedly passed away at home on February 4, 2025, a heart-wrenching loss felt deeply by all who knew her.

A dedicated educator, Liz devoted 32 years of her life to shaping the future of her students as a cosmetology teacher at Columbus Public Schools. Her career extended beyond the classroom; she began her adventures at Polaris Amphitheater in 1995, where she showcased her talents in operations management, security direction, and merchandise management with PromoWest. Liz’s passion for her work was palpable, driven by an unwavering love for those around her.

In her personal life, Liz was the heartbeat of every gathering. Christmas was particularly special; each year, she initiated a delightful tradition wherein every guest at her Christmas party would sign ornaments, preserving the memories of those cherished moments. This simple yet profound practice was a testament to her strong sense of family and her innate ability to create treasured memories.

Liz was a powerhouse of energy, described as small but mighty. She possessed a great sense of humor and a personality that lit up any room. Fiercely independent and full of determination, she embraced life with open arms. Her creativity shone through in her crafty hobbies, while her love for her dogs brought warmth and companionship to her spirited existence. An ardent Buckeye fan, she doted on her beloved college team, frequently indulging in her habit of collecting buckeye nuts. Additionally, Liz had a taste for fine spirits, particularly Patron Tequila, which was as bold as her personality.

She was immensely proud of her family, particularly her children and her favorite grandson, Carson, who held a special place in her heart. Liz is survived by her loving daughters, Erin Harlow and Mindy (Michael) Stover; Grandson, Carson Stover, Sister, Peggi (Tim) Mentel, Brother-In-Law, Frank (Tammy) Linard, Sister-In-Law, Patti (Connie) Marsili, Sister-In-Law, Amy (Don) Hura, Brother-In-Law, Brady (Debbie) Linard, Jimmy (Kristie) Linard, and a multitude of nieces and nephews who are fortunate to carry her legacy forward. The staff and crew of Promo West were also considered family, especially Freddie Campo.

Liz joins her father, Sal Salrin; mother, Bonny Salrin; and her husband of 30 years, Hank Linard, in eternal rest.

The celebration of Liz’s remarkable life will take place with a viewing on February 10, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located in Grove City, OH. A prayer service will follow on February 11, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Lockbourne, OH.

Though Liz has departed from this world, her joyous spirit, relentless energy, and vibrant legacy will forever illuminate the hearts of those she left behind.
