Barbara “Barby” Linard, 73 of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away peacefully at the Amberwood Manor in New Philadelphia, Ohio, on Tuesday March 3, 2026. Born on June 27, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Robert and Harriett Elizabeth (Helmreich) Warther.
Barbara graduated from Dover High School and later, the Kent State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. She was employed by Ameridial and worked as a telemarketer. Barbara was an advocate at the Harbor House where she graciously gave her time, devotion, and care to countless local women in need for many years. She had a deep love for her feline companions. In her free time, Barbara enjoyed playing spades and going fishing.
Barby is survived by her son, Nick Linard; daughter, Amanda Rackow; grandson, DJ Sickels, and sister, Sandra Vaughn. In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her late husband, Michael Pivonka, and her brother, Bill Warther.
According to the family’s wishes, cremation is planned without a formal viewing or visitation.
