William G. Croniser, 86, of Dennison, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 1, 2026. In the days leading to his passing, he was lovingly cared for by his granddaughters, whom he called “grandpa’s angels” – a memory they will carry with them forever. Born on November 11, 1939 in Dennison, Ohio, he was a son of the late Phillip Benner and Bessie Mae (Mitchell) Croniser.
After attending Dennison High School, Bill proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1960. After his time in the service, he married the love of his life Ardath “Ardie” Ann (Cecil) Croniser on March 4, 1961. Over the duration of their marriage, Bill and Ardie welcomed three beautiful children to the world and shared nearly 65 years of loving marriage.
Bill was an extremely skilled mechanic who began his career with Gibbs Chevrolet and Truck Sales and Service. He then operated Croniser’s Garage from 1980 to 1998, before founding Croniser’s Rte. 250 Mower Sales and Services. Bill leaves behind a long legacy of not only outstanding customer service, but countless lives touched by his kindness. He will be truly missed by his many friends, neighbors, and clients.
Bill enjoyed spending time and traveling with his wife on their motorcycle. He was also a very skilled woodworker. Bill had been a member of the Uhrichsville Moose, the Uhrichsville Elks, Scottish Rites Valley of Canton, and Mystic Tie Masonic Lodge #194 in Dennison. Bill attended Uhrichsville First Christian Church for many years.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by their son, Brian Croniser; daughters, Perriann Johns and Beth Kinsey; grandchildren, Kyle Kinsey, Richelle (Gary) Seaton, Keisha (Clintt) Peters, Amanda (Greg) Holmes, Barry (Danielle) McCoy, Tifanie (Jason) Kukwa, Tyson (Amanda) Croniser, and Jarred (Tori) Croniser; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Long, Kathryn (Roy) Lamberton, and Terri Cecil; and numerous nieces and nephews. According to Bill’s wishes, he will be cremated without a public visitation. His family plan to hold a Celebration of Life in his honor, and this website will be updated with details when they are confirmed. He will be interred in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover, Ohio on a future date. Those wishing to make a charitable donation in Bill’s memory may do so to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr., Ste. E, Uniontown, OH 44685, in lieu of flowers.
