Gregory Alan Stealey, age 56, of Dover, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice Truman House, following a long illness.
Greg was born in Columbus, Ohio, on November 12, 1969. He was the son of the late Donald L. Stealey and Joyce M. Weigand. He was raised by his mother and his stepfather, John Basiletti, who also preceded him in death.
He was a 1988 graduate of Dover High School. He received his HVAC Degree from Stark State. Greg worked for many years as a bricklayer at Republic Steel in Canton. Greg took pride in his work and was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.
He loved camping, gardening, bowling, and watching football. He also enjoyed going on long drives.
Greg leaves behind his daughters, Selena (Justin) Miller and Sierra Stealey; his granddaughter, Marina Miller, and was expecting a new grandson, Scott Miller, next month. He will be missed by his brother, Erick (Kelly) Stealey; and his nieces and nephews, Erick (Caitlyn) Stealey, Samantha (Eric) Bonaduce, Ashleee Kurtz, Kyle (Tori) Kurtz, Brittany (Kyle) Higgins, and Brianna (Tyler) Tarulli; 14 great-nieces and nephews; his aunt and uncle, Betty and Wayne Anderson; his former mother and father in-law, Kenneth and Peg Robb; and his close friend, Anissa Shear.
Greg was also preceded in death by his former wife, Joy Robb Stealey.
