Elizabeth Lohnes
September 12, 1936 - August 13, 2025
FORT EDWARD - Elizabeth Lohnes, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Glens Falls Hospital, with her family by her side.
Born on September 12, 1936, in Saratoga Springs, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Belva May (Baker) Deuel.
Elizabeth dedicated her life to caring for others, serving for many years as a compassionate and skilled LPN at Glens Falls Hospital. Her gentle spirit, kind smile, and steady hands brought comfort to countless patients and their families.
Elizabeth had a zest for life and a wide variety of interests that kept her days full and meaningful. She was an avid reader, often losing herself in the pages of a good book, and she found great peace in tending her garden, where every bloom seemed to thrive under her care. She enjoyed traveling to new places and exploring nature's beauty. Music was another joy in her life, whether it was a favorite tune playing softly in the background or the melodies that accompanied her quiet evenings at home.
Elizabeth had a special bond with animals and treated them as part of the family. She delighted in cooking for loved ones, filling the kitchen with delicious aromas and creating meals that brought people together. Her tablet was never far from her side, staying connected, and enjoying her favorite pastimes. Above all, her greatest happiness came from time spent with her family, sharing stories, laughter, and love around the table or simply enjoying each other's company.
She is survived by her sons: Daniel E. Cady, Timothy E. Cady, and James S. Cady (Bethe Thompson); her brother, Donald Deuel (Mary); her son-in-law, William Owens; her sister-in-law, Mary Deuel; and her grandchildren: Timothy W. Cady, Nicholas Cady, Ian Owens, and Eric Owens. She also leaves behind many cherished friends who will remember her warmth, kindness, and unwavering generosity.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her husbands, Ernest Cady and William Lohnes, and her beloved daughter, Michelle Cady Owens.
