Elizabeth Marie "Poochie" Ovington, age 68 years, passed at Baptist Floyd Hospital, New Albany, Indiana, on Monday, July 15, 2024. She was born in Clark Co. Kentucky, was raised in Portland (Louisville) and was a Registered Nurse.
She loved playing Softball, especially League Softball in her younger years. She took pride in her flower garden and loved tending to them. Poochie loved and very much missed her dog and buddy, Bentley" and she greatly enjoyed travelling country roads.
She was predeceased by her mother, Nancy Jeanette Ovington, her son, Bryan Ovington, her Uncle Bob Ovington, whom she cared for, and her nephew, Joey Jones.
She is survived by her sisters and brothers, Katherine Curl (David), Mary F. Marshall (David), Jeanette Phillips (Pat) John M. Jones Jr., Edd Jones, Jeaneen Jones (Tim Payne), and Tracy Lynn Tipton (Keith), her granddaughter, Madison Nicole Ovington and many Nieces and Nephews who she said were more like grandchildren.
Louisville Funeral Services will be held 7:00pm Thursday, July 18, 2024, at J.B. Ratterman & Sons Funerals & Family Cremation Care, 2114 W. Market St. and Louisville. Visitation at Ratterman's will be Thursday from 2:00 to 7:00pm. Taul Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling services will be held at 12 PM, July 20, 2024 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lowell Rice officiating, burial following at Longview Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 9 AM- 12 PM, Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers will be John Jones, Austin Pierce, Tim Payne, David Marshall, David Ovington and Dewayne Fletcher. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Phillips, Matthew Heath, Jonathan Casey, Josh Casey, Nathan White, Asiel White and Chase White. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
