Frankfort – Elizabeth Ball Pentecost, age 95, passed away at home on Thursday, January 16, 2025. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. D. Mark Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Committal services will be held at Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson, Kentucky at 1:00 p.m. CST on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
Mrs. Pentecost was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 21, 1929, to the late Henry Ball and Birdie Catherine Posey Ball. At only 9-days-old, she moved to Henderson, Kentucky to be raised by her grandparents after her mother's passing. After meeting her beloved husband, Fred Louis Pentecost in college, they relocated to Frankfort with their children in 1965.
She became a member of Highland Christian Church and was the first woman to become a Board Member. She also served as an Elder of the church. In her spare time, she took great pleasure in flowers and gardening.
Her unwavering faith and love for family is a testament to her life. She was truly loved by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Catherine Hockensmith.
She is survived by her children, Fred Lynn Pentecost (Helen) and Jan Pentecost (Brian) and grandchildren, Sarah, Chassity, Brittany, Jon, Tucker, Brandon, and Justin; and by eight great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be her family.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care or the Franklin County Humane Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
