Elizabeth “Betty” Johnson Peterson, 97, of The Landings of Rockingham, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Clayton and Pastor Heath Lloyd officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens.
Betty was born in Omaha, NE and was the daughter of the late Oscar and Elizabeth Johnson. She was a longtime resident of Reidsville and a faithful member of Covington Wesleyan Church. Betty was a voracious reader and read over 2000 books in 20 years here in Reidsville. She belonged to the Senior Group of Reidsville and the Senior Group of Fairview Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Peterson, and brother Bill Johnson.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Carol Ward and husband Eddie; son Richard Peterson and wife Tamie; grandson Aaron Peterson Ward; and her special grand dog, Tori Ward.
