Elizabeth "Liz" Possemato

Elizabeth Evanitsky Possemato, 73, of Hancock, NY passed away November 25, 2023. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, August 17, 1950, daughter of the late George and Ida Evanitsky.
She graduated from Hancock High School, and was the owner of the Circle-E-Diner in Hancock, NY, previously owned by her father, George Evanitsky. "Aunt Liz" was not only an aunt to her immediate family, but was endearingly known as the doting "Aunt Liz" to everyone, everywhere. Along with her incredible culinary skills, "Aunt Liz" was an animated storyteller, volunteer, and leader in her church community. And it was by her strong faith in both God and Jesus Christ that she led her life with love, devotion, and a dedicated commitment to everything she did.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her sister, Carolyn O'Shea, and is survived by her nephews George and Eric O'Shea; niece, Elizabeth Batcher; great nieces Mia and Zoe Batcher; great nephew Evan O'Shea; cousin Jean-Ann Evanitsky (and family); cousins Randy and Robin Evanitsky; "adopted nieces and nephews" Randy Evanitsky Jr (and family); Kristina and Michael Dufton (and family); Wendy and Brian Evanitsky; Gabriela Moritz; nephew Nathan Possemato; niece Carissa Possemato; and countless other relatives, friends and family who she adored.
Calling hours were held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 6PM-8PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. A funeral mass was held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 10AM at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Hancock. Interment followed in St. Paul's Cemetery, Hancock.
