Elizabeth Jones Randall, beloved daughter of the late Trible Jones Sr. and Carrie Lee Bassett Jones Wallace, was born on October 20, 1939, in New Kent County, VA. She entered into heavenly rest on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Norview Heights Nursing Home in Norfolk, VA.
Elizabeth was educated in the New Kent County public school system, where she completed and graduated from George Washington High School. She was also a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church.
In August 1956, she married George Melvin Randall of New Kent County, VA. From this union, they started their family, having five girls and two boys. She loved cooking and taking care of the home while George worked.
In her spare time, she enjoyed socializing and meeting new people, but she kept her circle small. In her later years, she and George separated but still remained in New Kent County and West Point, VA. In 1973 she decided to relocate to Washington, D.C, where she studied cosmetology and became a licensed beautician. She also became a member of the Eastern Star. She loved herself some James Clevland and Mahalia Jackson, which she would listen to day in and day out. Elizabeth's health was always up and down, and at some point, her condition took a turn that led her being unable to work.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by three daughters, Felicia Ann Randall, Bonnie Sue Randall, and Annie Anita Randall; two sons, George Melvin Jr. and Uyl Victor Randall; three sisters, Louise Cheeseman, Dorothy Paige, and Edith Mae Randall; four brothers, Trible Jones Jr., Leroy Jones, Alvin Thompson Jones, and Clifford Lee Jones; sister-in-law Marie Phillips of King Queen County; and best friend Babyshake of West Point, VA.
Elizabeth leaves to cherish her two daughters, Hazel Randall of Baltimore, MD, and Carrie Blount (Wallace) of Norfolk, VA; grandchildren, Nikita, Erica, Tynika, Tykiesha, Dominique, Shawn, Jenna, Amber, Michael, and Uylvonne; sister Catherine Jones of Newport News, VA; brother Calvin Edward Jones (Annette) of Philadelphia, PA; sisters-in-law, Irene Randall and Josephine Jones; and host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and special friends.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Whiting's Funeral Home, with a viewing beginning at 12:00 p.m.
Professional services have been entrusted to the staff of Whiting's Funeral Home, 7005 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg, Virginia 23185. 757-229-3011 whitingsfuneralhome.com

My beautiful auntie gone on. I pray comfort to my family and friends. My aunt Elizabeth was a special woman that I was always glad to see growing up. She gave me the nickname WHOOPY! She was so beautiful, her skin and her hair was so soft. I used to love when she came home from Washington. I was always excited. She would say, WHOOPY come bring aunt Lizzy something to drink or eat. I used to love serving her! She a special sparkle in my life that brought much joy! I thank God for her. God continue to bless us with the comfort of your arms around us. Bless her daughter's, keep them in this time of their loss of their mom. I love you guys! Bless you all!
