Our mother and Nana, Elizabeth Maxie Rucker, passed away on April 8th, 2023, at the age of 78. She was a loving and compassionate mother, Nana, and wife. She was an extraordinary mother who was always there when she was needed.
Elizabeth was born January 2, 1945 in Ada, Oklahoma to James and Lona Evanah Goodwin. She retired after 22 years from the County Farm Service Agency. She then earned an LVN degree and RN degree. Liz was a highly regarded nurse for many years, caring for her patients in the utmost regard. Liz was an exceptional caretaker – devoting her life to caring for her parents, family, friends, and patients.
Liz married her beloved husband on November 3, 1989. They were married for 22 years and enjoyed traveling in their winnebago. Liz and Russell lived a life full of love and laughter where everyone felt welcome. After retirement, Russell and Liz moved to Cartwirght, Oklahoma on Lake Texoma where they spent time with their family and friends.
Elizabeth leaves behind her three daughters, Carmyn Lang, Jill Tatum, Kimberly Gabriel, brothers Presley Walker and Dobby Walker, daughter by marriage, Jamie Rucker, grandchildren, Andrew DeBerry, Tesla DeBerry, Maxie Holland, Jimmy Harrison II, Kyler Gabriel, Kellie Gabriel, Hadlee Skaggs, Brystol Skaggs, Rachael Briant, and Sarah Rucker and great grandchildren, Kambry, Karter, Jayla, and Nala. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, Russell Rucker, grandson, Cameron Holland, grandson, Anthony Holland, her sister Joan Pitman, her brother, Tim Goodwin, Jerry Edwards, and son by marriage, Ty Rucker.
