Elizabeth H. Strazzullo "Betty", 91 of Mashpee passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the JML Care Center in Falmouth. Born in Somerville, daughter of the late Terpsikori (Qirici) and Christo Anastas.
On October 17, 1954, she married Francis Salvatore Strazzullo, they were married for 46 years upon his death in March 2000. She and her husband settled on South Cape Beach, Mashpee permanently in 1998.
Betty grew up in Somerville then settled in Waltham where she started as a secretary for Blue Cross &Blue Shield. She left to raise her children. She entered back into the work force working at the Eunice Shriver Kennedy Center. She retired as an Activities Director in a Long-Term Care Facility.
She was a communicant at St. Anthony's Church in East Falmouth. A member of the Ladies Guild. She was active in many fundraises for the church.
Betty had a passion early on for ceramics, crafting a beautiful Christmas Tree. She loved to travel to Europe, took a Pilgrimage to Italy, and visited locally the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy. The ministry of the Divine Mercy was a comfort to her. She was a shopper and fierce bingo player, always in for the Friday bingo win.
Loving mother of Carl Strazzullo and his wife Janet (Conti), Dr. Lisa Strazzullo Riha and her husband Michael D. Riha, Retired USAF, and Christa (Strazzullo) Delisle and her husband Robert. Proud and devoted "Nanze" to Adam Strazzullo wife Melissa, John Strazzullo wife Christa Lee, Dr. Sarah (Strazzullo) Pachner husband Max, Beth Delisle, Charles "Charlie" Delisle wife Kelsea, Julia Delisle and Dr. Eric Riha. Great grandmother of 6 extraordinary children, along with her "fur" grandbabies. Lastly this extraordinary woman was affectionately known as Auntie Betty to her nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church, 167 East Falmouth Highway, (Rte. 28) East Falmouth on Tuesday, December 10 at 11AM. Burial will follow at the MA National Cemetery, Connery Avenue., Bourne at 1:30PM.
