Elizabeth M. "Betty" Sylvester

Elizabeth M. Sylvester "Betty" (nee Rhoads) of Pottstown and a former resident of King of Prussia, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 18, 2022. She was 92 years old. Born April 24, 1930 in Swedeland, PA, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Lillian (nee Coote) Rhoads, and the beloved husband of the late John C. Sylvester, Sr. Betty is survived by her three children; John Sylvester, Jr. (the late Barbara) James Sylvester (Sharon) and Elizabeth Schrack (Richard), nine grandchildren: John III, Chana, James, Jr., Jason, Joshua, Theresa, Ricky, Charles, and Anthony, as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, David J. Sylvesterher two brothers; Ronald Rhoads and Norman Rhoads and her two sisters; Catherine Newton and Margaret Reynolds. Betty's favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family and friends. She also loved to garden , do arts and crafts, have family dinners and tell stories. Betty loved reading the newspaper, traveling with her kids and going to the theater. Betty attended St. Mary's School in Ambler, Pa until she was in the 8th grade. She worked at Landsdale tube, Minter's candy and Magic years daycare center, but her favorite job was being a grandmother. Relatives and friends are invited to share in Betty's Life Celebration on Thursday June 23, from 10 AM to 10:50 AM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, 610-277-7000. Her funeral service will begin at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Whitemarsh Memorial Park on Limekiln Pike.
