Elizabeth Thiel Obituary
Betty was a resident of Newtown Square since 1968. She and her husband Francis X. "Bruz" Thiel were married for 57 years until his passing in 2013. She is survived by her three children Jane (James), Mark (Maureen), Tracy (Dan). She is also survived by her sister Joan Woods.
Betty grew up in Southwest Philadelphia and attended West Catholic HS Class of 1950. She was still singing the fight song just a few weeks ago! Betty enjoyed following her children, friends & their families on Facebook and keeping up with birthdays, graduations, many sports teams and all family fun!
Betty, best known as Nanny, loved spending time with her 8 grandchildren. Chris (Nicole), Lauren (Anthony), Meghan (Paul), Kerri, Brynn, Courtney, Kara & Elizabeth.
Her favorite night of the month was "Movie & Pizza Night" with her grandchildren. She also loved sending daily emojis and texts to all of her family and friends.
Betty also has two great grandchildren, Addison & Olivia who were lucky enough to spend a year plus with her before she passed.
Newtown Square & the entire Thiel family lost an absolute gem with her passing.
Services will be Private.
