It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Velazquez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Liz peacefully departed this world on January 22nd, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on November 27th, 1962 in El Paso, Texas, Liz was a pillar of strength and compassion, touching the lives of everyone she met. She married her devoted husband, Rick, on July 9th, 1993, and they shared 31 years of unwavering love and companionship. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, shared dreams, and countless cherished memories. They supported each other through life's challenges, celebrated each other's successes, and found joy in the simple pleasures of everyday life. Their love story was one of steadfast devotion, filled with moments of understanding and unspoken bonds. They traveled life's journey hand in hand, creating a legacy of love that will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew them.
Liz was the proud mother of four children: April, Nicole, Chelsea, and Rick. She guided them with endless love, instilling in them the values of compassion, resilience, and integrity. Her legacy continues through her nine cherished grandchildren: Kevin, Daniel, Delilah, Nevaeh, Mason, Charlotte, Camila, Shayla, and Elijah, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Her love and wisdom touched the lives of each grandchild, creating a bond that will be treasured forever. She loved the time she spent with them, offering guidance, support, laughter, and unwavering affection.
Throughout her life, Liz was a pillar of strength for her family and friends. Her wisdom, grace, and unwavering faith guided her through life's challenges and triumphs. She will be remembered for her warm smile, her loving heart, and her faith in Jesus Christ. Her presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In addition to her immediate family, Liz is survived by her siblings, Luz, Alicia, Anna, Ramiro, Angel, and a host of extended family and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Liz's memorial service will be held 4pm-8pm, Thursday, February 27th, 2025 at Guerra & Gutierrez Mortuaries. Her internment at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery will be held at 2pm, Friday, February 28th, 2025. A celebration of Liz's life will follow at 3pm, 2703 Dawn Ridge Pl, West
Covina, CA 91792, where friends and family are invited to share their favorite memories and pay their respects.
Though she has departed and will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and enduring faith that will inspire generations to come.
