Elizabeth Helen "Betty" Verdone, age 92, passed at home under hospice care. Betty was preceded by Carmine, her husband of 58 years, in 2010. Loving mom to Linda, Jim (Rhonda), Jeff (Bobbie), and Greg (Laura). Special grandmother to Marie (Jeff), Timothy, and Justine. Proud great grandmother to her Michigan State Spartans Angelina and Jeffrey. Brother to Joe (Carol) Hudak. Also survived by many, many loving friends and extended family. Betty held numerous administrative positions throughout life including working with Carmine at the Downriver Cardiac Reversal Team and, after he passed, attended Martenson's grief counseling meetings to help others.
Visitation will take place at The Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes on Monday March 31, from 5pm until 9pm, and Tuesday, April 1 from 2 pm until 9 pm. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 2 at 12:00 pm. Entombment will take place immediately following at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers if you desire to make a memorial contribution please give to St Jude Children's Hospital as this was Carmine and Betty's favorite charity for bringing life and hope to others.
