Ella E. Box

Ella E. Box, 85, of Waymart, passed away on Tuesday evening, March 5, 2024 at Forest City Nursing Center. Her loving husband, Norman G. Box preceded her in death on May 30, 2022. They were married on June 29, 1957 and enjoyed 65 years together.

Born November 5, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Olive (Webb) Robbins.

For many years, Ella was a seamstress at the Waymart Knitwear. She enjoyed ceramics, sewing, crocheting, and arts and crafts.  She also took pleasure in working outdoors in her beautiful flower gardens. Ella will be remembered as a sweet and truly talented lady. She always looked forward to having hot dog roasts at the picnic grove with her loved ones. More than anything in this world, Ella loved her family most.

Ella is survived by a daughter, Debbie Box; two sons, Norman M. Box and his wife Tammy, and Richard Box and his wife Lauri, all of Honesdale; grandchildren, Jessica Lopresti (Tony), and Christopher Box (Katharine), Cassandra Dean (Luke), and Tyler Box (Amber); two great-grandchildren: Wesley and Mateo; and a sister, Joanne Robbins of Honesdale.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Box; a sister, Diane Silverman; and a brother, William Robbins.

The funeral will be on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Howell Family Funeral Home, Inc. Edward R. Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472 with Pastor Wendy D'Agostino officiating.

Friends may visit on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 2-5 PM at the funeral home.

Interment will be on Monday in The Waymart Cemetery at Canaan Corners.
