Ella Frances Cooke, 86, of Ft. Knox, Kentucky, went home to her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Ella was born on September 5, 1937, to the late Sylvester and Beatrice (Lewis) Smith, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Ella was a Christian and had a very strong love for her Lord. She worked for years as a caregiver, for children and adults, and showed her love for others by caring for them. Ella was a member of Christ Dependent Community Church in Elizabethtown and Rhema Praise Christian Center in Radcliff. She was a wonderful, loving mother and Granny, her family meant everything to her. Ella was sweet, loyal, wise and had a huge heart, which granted her many friends throughout her life. She was a great cook, her sons loved her pork chops and sweet potatoes. Ella was known as a fashionista, she always looked elegant and put together for any occasion. She spent many years as a military wife and was active with the Sargent Major wives.
Preceding her in death was her loving husband, Harry Cooke; and her son, John Arthur Keen, Jr.
Left behind to cherish the sweet memories of Ella's life is her children, Yolanda Keen, Donna Quinn (Tommy), Keith Keen, Sr. (Faye), David Keen (Diana), Dwight Keen (Alberta), and Edward Keen; her sisters, Clara Morgan and Pauline Smith; her 15 precious grandchildren; her 8 blessed great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and friends. She will be missed by all that knew her.
A funeral service to honor Ella's life will be at 6PM on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Homes West, 4400 Dixie Highway, with Pastors Alfred Wesley and Sheree Malone officiating. Friends may call on the family on Friday from 4PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
