Ella Ruth Crumpton Foughty 69 of Abilene passed away May 17, 2024. A memorial service will be held Friday May 31, 2024 at 1pm at North's Funeral Home, with Pastor Jami McCravey officiating.
Ella Ruth Crumpton Foughty, was born on June 1st 1954 to Eldon and Ella Estelle Crumpton. She graduated Abilene High School in 1972. Immediately after high school, Ella Ruth attended Hardin- Simmons University for nursing in Abilene and later Collin County Community College to be a paralegal. She married Cyrus William Foughty in 1980 and divorced in 2001. She loved a good romance novel, the British Royal family, music, art, and Angels. During her life she was very involved with Girl Scouts as a troop mom and then eventually a troop leader. Spending time with her three daughters in the girl scouts and teaching other young ladies' skills was a joy for her. Ella Ruth was a spiritual woman and took many trips during the summer to her favorite women's faith-based retreat in Arkansas. One of her greatest adventures was visiting the Peace Palace in Amsterdam where she admired the stunning architecture and gardens.
Ella Ruth Crumpton Foughty was preceded in death by her sister Judy Weems, her ex-husband Cyrus William Foughty, her father Eldon Crumpton, and her grandson Rowan Millhouse.
Ella Ruth Crumpton Foughty is survived by her children Katrina Millhouse and spouse Carey Millhouse, Shawnda Rixey, Ella Marie Foughty and Jonathan Foughty and his fiancee April Howard; her brothers Victor Crumpton and Charles Crumpton; her mother Ella Estelle Crumpton; her grandchildren Moss Millhouse, Abigail Millhouse, Isabelle Millhouse, Thomas Rixey, Allison Rixey, and Cooper Foughty; as well as many loving nieces and nephew.
