Ella Dawatha Easterling

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished "Nana," Ella Dawatha Easterling. Dawatha passed from this life to her eternal resting place in heaven on October 11, 2025, at age 94.
Known to many as Nana, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who loved her family with all her heart. She was an expert cook and avid reader. Her buttermilk biscuits were legendary.
Dawatha was a beloved member of the community, known for her kindness, positivity, and dedication to family. She spent her life in service to her family, friends, co-workers, and the Chickasaw People. Her legacy of hugs, love, compassion, and strength will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Dawatha is survived by her children Rosanna Easterling and Eddie Easterling, her grandchildren Brook Pinkston and husband Robert, Bryant Upton and wife Kelsey, Rowdy Elliott and wife Erica, Dakota Cole and wife Jamy, Jared Easterling and wife Cassidy, Nevada Cole and wife Amanda, Cedar Easterling, her great-grandchildren Zan Upton, Karissa Pinkston, Blake and Baylee Easterling, Spencer Upton, Carli Upton, Natalie Harcrow, Conner and Creek Cole, Case and Ella Easterling, Collins and Cooper Cole, Brynley Bowen, Kasen Lewellen, and Ryatt Elliott, her great-great-grandchild Swayzee Easterling, and her k-9 companion Tinker.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Ella Colley, parents Edd and LaTane Bryant, husband Coy Easterling, daughter Maria Upton, and grandson Jory Easterling.
A memorial service to celebrate Dawatha's life will be held at 10:00 AM on October 15, 2025, at the Temple of God in Connerville, Oklahoma. Interment to follow at the Connerville Cemetery. A family hour will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home.
