Ella Mae Carter Kincannon Gibson, 90, of Englewood, TN went home to Heaven on January 21, 2026.
Ella Mae found joy in life's simple and beautiful moments. She loved tending to her flower beds, watching birds, crocheting, working puzzles, and singing. A talented and spirited woman, she helped lead her grammar school basketball team to a championship. In her early teens during the late 1940s, Ella Mae shared her gift of music as a singer with the Blue Springs Quartet, performing on the radio station WLIL in Loudon, Tennessee.
Ella Mae was also a skilled professional seamstress, a career she devoted herself to until her retirement. She was a member of Light of Life Faith Ministries International in Athens, Tennessee, and she was the prayer warrior for her family. Her love for the Lord guided her throughout her life.
Preceded in death by her husbands, J.C. Kincannon Jr and Don Gibson; grandson, Ronald Heath Patterson; parents, Oscar Carter and Charlsie Fox Carter; siblings, Louie Carter, Joe Carter, Tommy Carter, Dewayne Carter, Juanelle Carter, and Robbie Carter.
Survivors include her children, Judy (Bill) Emerson, Karen (Ronnie) Patterson, Michael Kincannon, and Randy (Yvonne) Kincannon; grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Emerson (Mike) Brookhart, Brandi (Chris) Favaloro, Candice Patterson (Salvador) Gonzalez, Josh (Danielle) Kincannon, Aaron Kincannon, and Micah Kincannon; 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Pritchett, Clifford (Wanda) Carter, and Harvey (Brenda) Carter; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 3 PM at the Chapel of Companion Funeral Home in Athens, TN. Family will receive guests for visitation from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. The Service will be officiated by her beloved son, Randy Kincannon as well as Mr. Wayne Lee.
