Ella Henderson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A Life Celebration by Franklin - Austin on Jan. 14, 2026.
Ella Jo Henderson was born on November 11, 1932, in Lockhart, Texas, to Ennis and Nettie Spence.

She attended Carver Elementary School and Carver High School and later completed a college course in typing to expand her opportunities.

Ella Jo took great pride in her appearance and always enjoyed keeping her makeup, hair, and nails looking their best. She especially cherished her jewelry, watches, and her beloved cross.

A devoted servant of the church, she faithfully served until her health no longer allowed her the mobility to continue. Ella Jo loved the Lord deeply and lived her life as a true believer, guided by her unwavering faith.

Family was the heart of Ella Jo's life. She found joy in giving and compassion in service, faithfully supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and ensuring her monthly donations were always sent. Her love and generosity touched many lives, leaving behind a legacy filled with cherished memories and enduring love.

Ella Jo was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.

She leaves to mourn her three children: Karen Davis of Pflugerville, Texas; Diane Ford (Willie) of Pflugerville, Texas; and Ronnie Branch (Weda) of Dallas, Texas. Ella Jo was a proud grandmother of 16, a great-grandmother of 36, and a great-great-grandmother of 7, each one a testament to the beautiful family she nurtured and loved. She is also survived by her loving sister, Annie Robinson of Pflugerville, Texas.

Ella Jo Henderson will be remembered for her deep faith, generous spirit, unwavering love for family, and the lasting impact she made on all who were blessed to know her.

Momma/Granny, there will always be a special place in our hearts for your love and the memories we shared. You were blessed to witness your family grow and pour love into each and every one of us. Though it is difficult knowing your physical presence is no longer with us, your love, lessons, and memories-both joyful and challenging-will forever be cherished. We love you, Momma/Granny, and you will truly be missed.
