Ellen Kicklighter Armstrong went to be with our Lord on July 3, 2024 at the Social Memory Care in Savannah, GA. She was born on October 15, 1947, to U.G. and Cubie (Odom) Kicklighter. She was a very special woman of many talents who never slowed down. She had a love of music and played the piano, organ, dulcimer, and accordion. She faithfully played the organ and piano for the Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church for many years where she was a member. Ellen was an avid porcelain artist. She painted hundreds of baby shoes over the years for families across the country. Ellen loved to cook, bake, and play jokes on family and friends. She also had a love of gardening at her farm in Birdford. Professionally, Ellen was a nurse anesthetist working in surrounding counties. Ellen was the true definition of a well-rounded southern lady.
Ellen is survived by stepdaughter Susan Driggers (Simmie, Jr.), grandchildren Simmie Driggers III (Melanie), Cortney Lockley (Myles), great-grandchildren Henry and Adley, Nieces Amy Alberdi (Mikel), Shelli Rey (Henry), Laurie Key (Stewart), nephews Dale Stubbs (Kristine), Dave Stubbs (Michelle), cousin and caretaker Diane Lee (Herman), cousin, Ricky Kicklighter (Debbie), and many family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 am, Monday, July 8, 2024 at Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a, Monday, July 8, 2024 at Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ellen’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Glennville, GA.
