Ellen C. Buehler
February 2, 1939 – January 16, 2026
Ellen C. Buehler, age 86, of Rotterdam, New York passed away in her sleep on Friday, January 16, 2026 at the Glendale Nursing Home in Glenville, New York.
Ellen was born in Schenectady, the daughter of the late Harold and Gertrude (Bunk) Buehler. She graduated from Draper High School in 1957. After graduation, she worked at Draper High School and later at Mohonasen High School in the Business Office for 39 years.
Ellen loved animals, gardening, and traveling. She especially loved vacationing in York Beach, Maine with her nieces and nephews and their families.
She was predeceased by her mother and father, her sisters Barbara Smith and Mary Smith, and nephew Jimmy Smith.
She is survived by her sisters Gertrude (Gordon) Decker and Dolores Buehler. She is also survived by her 8 nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Glendale Nursing Home in Glenville, New York for their compassion and thoughtful care.
A private celebration of life will be held for the family at a later date.
