Ellen Marlene Cline, age 77, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026, at UCHealth Hospital in Greeley, Colorado. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Summer 2026. Ellen will be laid to rest alongside her beloved parents at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering, Nebraska. Ellen was born December 20, 1048, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Grant and Emma (Smith) Steidley.
She dedicated herself to caring for others, obtaining certification as a care provider. Throughout her career, she held positions as a nurse’s aide and medication aide in Colorado and Scottsbluff.
Ellen was united in marriage to Ed Cline, and together they made a home in Scottsbluff.
Ellen was an avid Nebraska Huskers fan and Denver Broncos fan. She also found joy in cooking and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband and companion of 57 years, Ed Cline of Scottsbluff; four children, Jeff Koros of Scottsbluff, Stephanie Koros of Thornton, CO, Corey Cline of Minatare, Stacey Key of Morrill, and her grandson, Brandon Cline, whom she raised as another son; two step-children, Lance and Denise Cline of Gering; ten grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and other extended relatives and friends.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Emma Steidley; brother, Hugh McCracken; and uncle, Bennie Smith.
