Ellen Darr

On April 8, 2025, Ellen Mae Darr of Silver Spring. Beloved wife of David Darr (z"l); Devoted mother of Melanie Bachrach and Jonathan Darr (Nyana Singh); Loving sister of Barbara Grad (Peter Allen) and Joel Horwitz (z"l); Cherished grandmother of Ashleigh, Joshua, and Adam and great grandmother of Mila, Elio, and Javi. She was a kind, dignified, intelligent and caring individual who devoted her life to her family and to teaching the youngest children. She carried on Jewish traditions passed down to her, and ensured all members of her extended family were included. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 11 at noon at Congregation Beth El, 8215 Old Georgetown Road, followed by burial at Judean Gardens. No Shiva will be held due to Sabbath and Passover. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Beth El, the Beth El Preschool, and to JSSA Hospice.
