Ellen Kay Eoff, age 74, of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly in July 2025. Born on September 22, 1950, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, Ellen was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, great-grandmother, and aunt. Her life was marked by quiet independence, and she remained a part of her family's lives in her own way. Ellen was a longtime NASCAR fan, and her favorite driver was the late, great Dale Earnhardt. She had a deep love for the sport, and her most prized possession was her #3 Dale Earnhardt Monte Carlo. She also had a fondness for collecting unique items and enjoyed the thrill of a good find. She is survived by her son, Shannon (Julie) Farris; her grandchildren, Cherokee (Brian) Crum, Darian (Caspar) Vester, Anthony Farris, and Bethany Farris; and her great-grandchildren, Derek Crum, Axton Crum, Zeppelin Crum, Azalea Farris, and Rykar Vester. She is also survived by her brother, Mack (Jean) Mayes. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Eoff; her parents, Byrd and Ada Mayes; her brother, Wayne Mayes; and her sisters, Wilma Morgan and Margaret Scott. A memorial visitation will be held at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe from 12 – 4 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025. Private interment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are appreciated to help with final arrangements.
