David J. Albrecht

David J. Albrecht, age 82 of Monroe, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, January 25, 2026.

Born August 6, 1943 in Livonia, MI, David was the son of the late Leroy and Lorraine (Conroy) Albrecht. He graduated from Bentley High School in Livonia, MI and Wayne State University in Detroit. He became a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, a Clinical Sports Massage Therapist, and a Personal Trainer and Physical Fitness Specialist. In conjunction, he had a 30-year career at General Motors Fisher Body Plant as a pipefitter, and a 34-year career with the Juice Plus Company where he served as its National Marketing Director.

David honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served as a Navy Seabee and was recognized by the U.S. Marine Corp. He also received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Combat Operations Insignia.

On July 31, 2005, David married Eileen T. Wickenheiser. Together they enjoyed time in their R.V., sail boating, motor boating, and many travels chasing sunsets from Michigan to Florida and Virginia to California. His travels often included giving international and national lectures on health and nutrition. They also enjoyed the time they spent residing as Florida "snowbirds". Years ago, he also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He made many friends along life's journey, raising health awareness wherever he went.

David is survived by his wife Eileen; his children, James Albrecht, Kristin (Christopher) Dan, and Ethan Albrecht; stepdaughters, Rochelle Novak, Leah Robinson, and Claire (Jordan) Myers; and many in-laws and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by an infant sister, Darlene.

The family will receive visitors from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28th at St. Michael Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Rev. Fr. Michael A. Anagbogu and assisted by Deacon Michael Stewart. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park where military honors will be provided by Monroe VFW Post 1138. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are encouraged to VFW Post #1138 and St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
