Ellen Jane had a fulfilling career, working for Hallmark Cards and Credit Union of Emporia before retiring from Interstate Brands Dolly Madison Bakery, also in Emporia. Her professional journey was marked by the same commitment and passion that she brought to her personal life.

A woman of strong faith, Ellen Jane loved her Lord and made sure each day began with prayer and reading her Bible. Throughout her life, she prioritized her relationship with her Lord and Savior, an influence that shaped the foundations of her family’s faith and values.

Ellen Jane was particularly proud of the role she played in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's lives. Ellen Jane had a special connection with Central Christian Academy, diligently participating in school events and supporting the mission of the school, where her three granddaughters attended and four of her six great-grandchildren are currently enrolled.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Hamman; her parents, W. Ben Brady Sr. and Rosy Brady; and her brother, Robert Brady.

Ellen Jane is survived by her daughter, Jean Manning, and her son-in-law, Mark Manning, of Wichita, Kansas. She also leaves behind her three granddaughters: Rachel Touchatt (Kyle) of Wichita, Anna Waddell (Kenny) of Wichita, and Lydia Priest (Sean) of Dallas, Texas. Ellen Jane is remembered fondly by her great-grandchildren: Jackson and Parker Touchatt, Lincoln and Chloe Waddell, and Halayla and Hayes Priest, along with her brother, W. Ben Brady Jr. (Becky), nieces, and nephews.

A burial will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia, Kansas, beginning at 1:00 pm.
