Ellen Lozada Obituary

Lozada, Ellen Marie
LUTZ, Fla. - Ellen Marie Lozada, 72, passed away on June 23, 2024, in Lutz, Fla., with her loving family by her side. She was born on September 19, 1951, in Albany, N.Y., daughter of Robert J. and Jane E. (Reed) Moore. Her life's mission was dedicated to nurturing both people and animals with an abundance of kindness and generosity. Ellen was known for her selflessness and humility, never seeking attention but always ready to assist those in need. Her legacy of caring and compassion touched so many lives and will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Ellen graduated from Vincentian Institute High School, in Albany, N.Y., and embarked on a career path that reflected her commitment to serving others. She spent over 29 years as a Special Education Teacher at Capital Region Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES), in Albany, N.Y., profoundly impacting the lives and dreams of the students she taught. Ellen also expressed her creativity and love for the culinary arts as a pastry chef at the French Confection in Latham, N.Y. Her passion for helping extended to animals, volunteering at Pasco County Animal Services in Lake O'Lakes, Fla., where she provided unconditional love to so many dogs, by spending countless hours walking and nurturing them.
Ellen was a beacon of love and wisdom to her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Rommel G. Lozada; sons, Sean and Brian Lozada; grandsons, Kiefer and Evan Lozada; siblings, Jane Victoriano, Dorothy Patterson, Nancy Yap, Marie Moore Milham, Eddie Moore, Judy Moore, Nora Baratto, Melanie Moore, Ben Moore; and her beloved dog, Queso. She was preceded in death by her son, Rommel Lozada Jr. (Hawkie); her parents, Robert J. and Jane E. (Reed) Moore; and brothers, Robert E. (Bob) Moore, Gerard J. (Jerry) Moore; and dog, Boscar.
Ellen enriched her life through travel and a lifelong pursuit of knowledge, which kept her vibrant and engaged with the world around her. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 21, 2024, in Albany, N.Y., to honor Ellen's memory and the impact she made on so many lives.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Friends of Animal Services, Inc., P.O. Box 215, Elfers, Fla. 34680, honoring Ellen's love for animals and her spirit of giving. Ellen's legacy of love, education, and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Ellen was my older sister, the 4th of 8 sisters. We were invincible as the "sister squad." The pranks we played, the laughs we had were great especially on our poor unsuspecting husbands. Most important of all we supported each other and carried each other through the tough times as well. Ellen was my rock and guided me through some rough times. She was honest with her feedback and cheered me on when I didn´t feel I could go on. She even kicked me out of her kitchen when I wasn´t disciplined enough to be a " serious cook" . Most importantly, she was always present and never judged. I will miss you Ellen but you will always be in my heart.......maybe you will help me improve my cooking skills from up above !! Love you,Nora

Rommel sending you and your loving family our sincere sympathy and prayers. Ellen will be in our prayers. She is beautiful, kind, humble, quiet with a good sense of humor. I always enjoyed my conversations with her.
May she rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon her.

Sweet Ellen, maybe the quietest of the Moore´s, but still waters run deep. I knew her when she was a child and a young woman, she always seemed above the fray, and yet from time to time she could be fierce, kind of shocking us. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out and will be deeply missed.

Dearest Manang Ellen...I shall miss you a lot. We just had so much fun last November and I was looking forward for more loving fun times with you but then God called you back to His heavenly Home. I feel sad every time I think I shall not see you again in this lifetime but then I am also happy you have moved on to a happier place. There I know I´ll see you again someday. May God´s love bring you eternal rest. I love you Manang Ellen

To all of Ellen's family and friends, I am so very sorry for the passing of such a beautiful soul!! I have many memories of Ellen who always made me feel welcome. I was so very very blessed to have known such a selfless loving woman. She loved and lived a life of giving herself to so many. She is and was humble never looking for attention for all she did. HEAVEN has gained and shines even more with Ellen there. I won't say goodbye because I know I'll see her again. I have no doubt that when Ellen met JESUS,that HE said " WELL DONE" MY CHILD "WELL DONE". Shine on ELLEN!!!

Ellen was my special gift from GOD, one more very special sister. How can I forget the times we spent with our boys, especially Hawkie and his antics, who made me think I lost my mind. I love you Ellen, to heaven, over and over. Thank you.
