Ellen Muzic (née Mackey) 90, a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 24,2026 at The Enclave at Newell Creek in
Mentor, Ohio. While her passing leaves a profound void, her loved ones take comfort in knowing she is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Ed. After almost 70 years of marriage, it brings great joy to imagine the two of them celebrating together again, undoubtedly throwing a party to welcome her home.
Ellen was born on September 18, 1935, in Johnston, PA, and grew up in
Dunlo, PA before moving to Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from Collinwood High School and went on to build a life centered around family, love, and lifelong friendships. She married Edward Muzic, on May 19,1956 with whom she shared a beautiful and enduring partnership until his passing.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Missy) Muzic and Patrick Muzic (Frank Reed); daughter, Kathy (Michael) Kelly; grandchildren, Samantha (Joshua) Weaver, Michael (Alexandra) Muzic, and Mary (Corey) McHugh; and great-grandchildren, Emilie and Owen Weaver, and Danny Muzic. She also leaves behind her sister, Doris Burrington; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Grace Muzic and Donald Rositano; and many nieces and nephews.
Ellen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward F. Muzic; parents; her sister, Ruth Rositano; brothers-in-law, Harry Burrington and James Parks; and her nephew, Jim Burrington.
Ellen spent most of her adult life in Mentor, later living in Perry before moving to The Enclave at Newall Creek. She was kind, giving, and loving-cherishing time with her family and lifelong friends. Some of her happiest moments were spent enjoying theater and traveling, especially winter trips to Myrtle Beach. She also enjoyed playing the slots and visiting casinos near and far, where she was known to win, more often than not.
She will be remembered for her gentle heart, generosity, and the love she shared so freely. Her warmth lives on in all those she touched.
Cremation services are provided by Brickman Bros. Funeral Home, with interment to follow at All Souls Cemetery. To respect the family's wishes, services will be private.
