With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ellen Cole Perry, 72, of Charleston, SC on February 3, 2025.
Ellen Marie Cole Perry was born in Augusta, GA to Edward and Jeanne Cole on December 26, 1952.
All who knew Ellen will remember her for her devotion to her family, always present smile, sense of humor, and immense kindness. She loved animals deeply and was a fur-mom to many rescues, most recently, her companion dog, Frankie. She was most proud of being a mother, a grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her. In recent years she has thoroughly enjoyed retirement; family vacations, her home on the waterway, taking pride in her green thumb, and playing an integral part in caring for her grandson, Gray, since his infancy.
Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Jeanne Cole, and her brother, Edward “Chuck” Cole.
Her spirit lives on in those who loved her most- her two sons, Joseph Perry (Christina), and Joshua Perry (Deserrie), and daughter, Carmen Perry; three grandsons, Joseph “Bud” Perry, Jackson Perry, and Gray Perry, and granddaughter, Ava Perry; and brother Jeff Cole (Susan).
An informal Celebration of Life will be held from 12 - 2 pm Saturday, February 22, 2025, at McAlister- Smith Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, 1520 Rifle Range Rd, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
In place of flowers, we are requesting, on Ellen’s behalf, for memorials to be made to Charleston Animal Society (https://charlestonanimalsociety.org/make-a-gift-in-honor-or-memory-of-a-loved-one/)
