Mrs. Ellen (Aretha) B. Saunders, age 90, of Richmond, departed this life on December 21, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso Saunders. She is survived by one daughter, Sharon S. Collins (Ben); one son, Dwayne A. Saunders (Gloria); six grandchildren, Candyce C. Saunders (Michael), Benjamin Collins, Ashley Matthews (Michael), Allie R. Saunders, Adam J. Saunders and Aaron L. Saunders; one great granddaughter, Zolana E. Saunders; three brothers, John J. Brackett Jr., Forrest L. Brackett and Joseph L. Brackett; one brother-in-law, Aaron Saunders; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue, where Mrs. Saunders can be viewed on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 10:00am to 6:00pm, and where funeral services will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 11:30am. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 11:15am on Monday.
