Ellen Carol Schulman

MONROE TOWNSHIP - ELLEN CAROL SCHULMAN passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, after a long illness at her residence in Monroe Township, NJ. She was 83 years old.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Ellen was the daughter of the late Murray and Lillian Goody. She resided in New York City, where she married her beloved husband, Stanley Schulman. Following their marriage, they settled in East Brunswick, NJ, where they made their home for 41 years and raised their two children. For the past 13 years, Ellen had been a resident of the Clearbrook community in Monroe Township, NJ.

Ellen began her professional life as a Spanish teacher at Hudde Middle School in Brooklyn. After moving to New Jersey, she devoted herself to the arts, becoming a lifelong patron and creator. She especially enjoyed collage work and was an avid antique collector. Ellen took great pleasure in attending art shows, plays, and concerts with her husband and friends. She was also a dedicated member of the Clearbrook Art Appreciation Club, where she faithfully coordinated the annual art show.

Ellen was predeceased by her parents, Murray and Lillian Goody, and by her brother, Howard (Estel) Goody.

She leaves behind her devoted husband of 57 years, Stanley Schulman, of Monroe Township; her son, Glenn (Betsy) Schulman, of New Haven, CT; her daughter, Marcy (Steve) Smaldone, of Woodstock, CT; and her cherished grandchildren, Zachary, Zoe, and Zevi Schulman.

The family requests that donations may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association.
