Ellen "Ann" Ward Simpson, 76, of Seneca, wife of William" David" Simpson passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026. Born in Oconee County she was the daughter of the late Jessie Lewis Ward and Nettie Daisy Jane Ladd Ward.
Survivors include her children; Lisa (Deron) Edwards, Shannon Simpson, and David (Kimberly) Simpson, her grandchildren; Casey Edwards, Travis Edwards, Cally (Robert) Peek, Lily Simpson, Ian Owens, Blakely "Boots" Owens, Kassidy Collins, Jade Ahrens and (Honorary Grandchildren) Victoria (Josh) Hull, she is also survived by her great grandchildren; Ka'Lani Heaven Lee, Karter Lee,(Honorary Great Grandchildren) Zayden Hull and Jackson Hull. Ellen is survived by three siblings; Laylon Ward, Joe (Sue) Ward, and Corinda Simmons, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by twin granddaughters; Emma and Allison Simpson and three sisters and eight brothers including her twin, Allen.
Ellen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She worked at J.P. Stevens, Clemson Plant in the 70's and off and on in the 80's and 90's while she raised her family as well as the Jameson Inn in the late 90's until 2005.
She loved to read, sew and enjoyed writing stories.
The family will receive friends at Brown Funerals, on Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 6:00-8:00 PM. The funeral service will follow on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 10:30 am in the Chapel of Brown Funerals.
