Gathering services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Hussey officiating services.
Kay was born in Rome, Georgia to James Leo Baker Jr and Margaret Ruth McLaney Baker on 08/18/49. She went to school in Cedartown, GA where she graduated high school from Cedartown High and continued her education in college in Georgia where she earned her LPN. She married Kirit Kalangi Ved on February 25, 1977 in New Orleans and celebrated 49 years of marriage. She worked as an LPN for a few years and became a homemaker for the majority of her life.
Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Kirit Kalangi Ved, her father, James Leo Baker Jr and her mother, Margaret Ruth McLaney Baker. Kay is survived by her sons, Shaun Kirit Ved (Nicole) and Mark Kirit Ved, grandson Frank Kirit James Ved, sisters Linda Margaret Webb, Janet Clara Fortune (John), Nancy Dale Doster (Tony), brothers James Milton Baker, and Leo Alfred Baker (Tammy).
Kay was loved by her many relatives and will be missed dearly. She is reunited with her husband of 49 years. Kay was a soft spoken, sweet and caring gentle soul who loved to take care of her family.
