Ellen Coleman Walker

Mrs. Ellen Coleman Walker, age 87 of Florence, passed away at her home on December 23, 2025 surrounded by her family. Services will be held at The Chapel on January 3, 2026 and will begin at 1pm. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11am – 1pm. Burial will immediately follow the service at Florence City Cemetery. Elkins Funeral Home in Florence is assisting the family.

Mrs. Walker was a member of the Christ Chapel church for over 40 years. She was devout Christian who loved to spread the Gospel anytime she had the chance. She loved everybody and never seemed to meet a stranger, but her family, especially her children and grandchildren, had a special place in her heart.

Mrs. Walker loved flowers, gardening, and just being in the country in general. She had an exceptional knowledge of farming and absolutely loved her farm.

She is survived by her children, Robert "Bud" Walker Jr. , Tina Walker Moore (Allan), Edith June Walker Miller (Mike), and James H. Walker (Rosie); grandchildren, Leealice Monroe (Jamie), Maggie Miller, Morgan Claunch (Chris), Coleman Miller, Walker Alexander (Nic), Camilla Dancescu (Andrei), Reed Walker, Andrew Walker (Aubrie), Sara Walker, Lucas Walker; great-grandchildren, Madeline Claunch, and Callie Claunch; many nieces and nephews; and employees of over 30 years, Servando Lopez and Manuel Vicencio.

She is preceded by her husband of 64 years, Robert "Buddy" Walker; parents, Pete and June Coleman; and sister, Alice Strawn.

The children of Mrs. Walker would like to extend recognition and thanks to Cathy Wesson, a caregiver and close family friend, for her continuous love and care for Mrs. Walker over the past 8 years.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Preferred Hospice, specifically Colton Cain and Amanda Jefferys; and doctor and friend of the family, Dr. Robert Mann.
